My Research Interests
My background in Environmental Science has enabled me to develop a broad view towards various environmental issues. I used to work on soil carbon sequestration and investigated the effects of biochar application on soil greenhouse gas emission. Now my study subject has changed from soil to ocean, from experimenting to modeling, whereas the general orientation is still to advance our knowledge in alleviating many serious environmental problems. I wish to use models to improve our understanding of the dynamics in oceans. Currently, I am investigating the biogeochemical activity and physical forcing in regulating the hypoxia in Northern Gulf of Mexico by using a coupled physical-biogeochemical model.
I love reading, running, baking, calligraphy, playing flute and some other traditional Chinese art.
