My Research Interests
My background in Environmental Science has enabled me to develop a broad view towards various environmental issues. My undergraduate work focuses on soil carbon sequestration. Specifically, I'm interested in the effects of biochar application on soil greenhouse gas emission. Now my study subject has transited from soil to ocean, from biochemical experimenting to modeling, whereas the general orientation is still to advance our knowledge in alleviating serious environmental problems. My PhD work aims to improve our understanding and prediction capability of the biogeochemical processes associated with hypoxia and oil pollution in the Gulf of Mexico using coupled physical-biogeochemical model and ensemble data assimilation techniques.
Other Interests
I love reading, running, hiking, baking, calligraphy, playing flute and some other traditional Chinese art.
