My Research Interests
My research is focused on the drivers of biogeochemical cycles in the Gulf of Mexico. I work mainly with autonomous floats deployed in the Gulf that measure physical (temperature, salinity, velocity) and biogeochemical (chlorophyll fluorescence, particulate backscattering, dissolved oxygen) properties of the water. Using these data, supplemented with numerical modelling techniques, I seek to elucidate the main drivers, whether physical or biological, of biogeochemcial changes observed in the water column.
Other Interests
I grew up in Halifax and have lived on the east coast all my life. I love living in Halifax and being able to go out to see live music or go to the farmer's market every week. I enjoy being active in my spare time, doing things like cycling, playing hockey, or curling. My favourite things are coffee, pens, and graphs. My current projects are photography and turning my Raspberry Pi into something neat.
