My Research
Bio-optics
For an AquaNet project, I developed and built low-cost underwater radiometers to assess environmental change inside and around shellfish farms.
These instruments measure sunlight penetration throughout the water column, which is then used to estimate the concentration of phytoplankton
and other light-attenuating substances. These instruments can be used to measure food availability and consumption in bivalve farms.
For my PhD I also used many other commercially available bio-optical instruments to assess environmental variability inside and around bivalve farms.
